Every bird rescue is different. On one occasion, builders were working on a local hotel. On a cold, wet day,
they found a broken nest containing a tiny, unfeathered, and very cold squab (baby pigeon).
They immediately rang a high-profile national animal charity, but were told there was nothing that organisation could do. Next, the builders went to a nearby vet who couldn’t take the bird ‘because of the risk of bird flu’. Instead, the builders were told to put the bird back where they’d found it – even though the nest had been destroyed and the area was a building site!
We’re here for all kinds of bird rescue
After keeping the bird safe overnight, the construction workers contacted us. We collected Little Squab and looked after him before arranging his release back into the wild.
Imagine being in the same position as those kind builders and what you’d do. Fortunately, our first aid and connections with specialist bird rescue centres mean we can help. All it takes is a call on 07817 995751.
Since we started our little charity in 2002, we’ve rescued many birds. Our domestic and wild bird rescue experience includes the following:
- Garden bird rescue
- Bird of prey rescue
- Pet bird rescue
- Sick and injured bird rescue
- Racing pigeon rescue
- Baby bird rescue
- Waterfowl rescue
- Poultry rescue
How you can help the birds
It’s sad when the vagaries of nature, accidents or mistreatment make bird rescues necessary. Fortunately, caring people like you support our bird rescue work. Without you, we couldn’t help the birds. Here are some of the things you can do to help:
- Report injured or mistreated birds
- Volunteer in one of our rescue centres
- Help with fundraising
- Help in our charity shops
- Leave us a legacy in your will
